# Rebate Index

All amounts are published maximums with eligibility conditions, checked 23 September 2026. Key verified figures:

- Solar STCs: about $37 a certificate at point of sale; 6.6 kW = 45 certificates (about $1,650) in Zone 3 and 39 (about $1,450) in Zone 4 for 2026 installs; deeming period 5 years in 2026, 4 from 1 January 2027.
- Federal battery discount: about $252 per usable kWh on the first 14 kWh (factor 6.8) for installs 1 May to 31 December 2026; 60% of that from 14 to 28 kWh; factor 5.7 from 1 January 2027 (about $211), 5.2 from 1 July 2027, 4.6 from 1 January 2028.
- Victoria: Solar Homes solar rebate up to $1,400 plus optional $1,400 interest-free loan (income under $150,000, property under $3 million, no solar in last 10 years); hot water rebate up to $1,000 ($1,400 locally made); Victorian Energy Upgrades heating and cooling discounts up to $5,530 (ducted gas to ducted reverse-cycle, 22.4 kW) and $630 to $1,610 (gas space heater to split), minimum co-payments $1,000 and $200 inc GST, proposed $3,000 for ducted from 30 September 2026; battery loan closed.
